IN the beginning the world was green
The world had life
The world was happy
Now things are changing
Trees are disappearing
Rivers have grown muddy
Smoke chokes the air
The world no longer has life
The world is no longer happy
But there is still hope
There are people
More and more people each day
They are taking the steps they need
To fix a broken Earth
They are working to restore Life
The world is happy

Each day we are faced with opportunities
to work together and make ourselves and this world a better place.
But many days, we make an unconcious choice
to focus on our own wants and desires
We do not look at the world as a whole-
just at ourselves
And each day we grow further away
from making the world better.
Each day we overlook opportunities
And one day
it will be too late.

As the earth spins on its never- ending path
Its residents take for granted everything it gives us.
Normal people like you and me are using its resources
Each time we turn on a light, restart the computer or drive across town.
With each action, we are sucking up the resources
with little thought to the damage we are causing.
With each pasing day, the earth's resources are becomng depleted and the earth cries out -
it begs us to stop and consider what we are doing-
but we cannot hear over the hum of the engines, the ding of the computers, the whirl of the engines.
We can not hear the Earth's cries.

Blue skies. green grass...
who said it had to be that way?
Color in the lines- but why?
Who decided things have to be a certain way?
What makes one way "more right" than another?
I say do it the way you think is right.
Dare anyone else to say anything.
You are the one who has to live with it-
and as long as you take responsibility- do it your way.
Green skies, blue grass-
who said it can't be that way?
